
Voices in Contemporary Art: Time-Based Media Stewardship Workshop

VoCA’s Time-based Media (TBM) Stewardship Workshops, developed with the generous support of the Mellon Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts, provide arts professionals at all stages of their careers with a greater understanding of the methods and skills needed to collect, present, and preserve media art. Held in-person at the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico over the course of three days, the Workshops combine lectures with interactive sessions, roundtable discussions, and small group exercises that address many of the challenges of TBM collection management and stewardship. Participants will leave the program armed with the knowledge and tools to design and implement an action plan for ensuring the current and future care of TBM works in their collections.
Longhaven Artist Residency

Loghaven Artist Residency’s mission is to serve artists by providing them with a transformative residency experience and continued post-residency support. Practicing artists of all backgrounds and at any stage of their career are eligible to apply. The residency is located on ninety acres of woodland in Knoxville, Tennessee. Artists live in five historic log cabins that have been both rehabilitated and modernized to create an ideal setting for reflection and work, and they have access to new, purpose-built studio space. All Loghaven Fellows are awarded stipends to support the creation of new work during the residency, particularly in the following disciplines: writing (poetry, fiction, nonfiction, screenwriting, and journalism), visual arts, dance, theater, music composition, architecture, and interdisciplinary work.
Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (MOCA GA) Working Artist Project

The Working Artist Project (WAP) is a year-long fellowship program facilitated by The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (MOCA GA). The program was created by MOCA GA to champion established visual artists of merit who are based in the Atlanta metropolitan region. Each year, a guest curator selects three of WAP’s best and brightest to receive a solo exhibition, promotion, a studio apprentice (in support of emerging artists in the Atlanta Community), a full-color catalogue, and a $15,000 stipend to create work over the course of the year.

Florida CraftArt presents x1000, a curated exhibition highlighting artists who work with duplicable processes such as mold‑making, printmaking, and other methods that allow ideas to be produced in multiples. The show brings together works that use repetition as both technique and concept, emphasizing how form and meaning evolve through iterative creation. Across the exhibition, subtle variations accumulate to reveal new interpretations. By exploring how repetition transforms an idea over time, x1000 invites viewers to consider the creative potential of multiplicity and the ways repeated forms can challenge assumptions about originality and artistic intent.

Peter Bullough Foundation Spring 2027 Artist Residency

The Peter Bullough Foundation provides intimate, focused residencies to artists and writers, with diverse backgrounds and interests, including those elevating voices and topics relevant to the LGBTQIA2S+ community. Each awarded residency period is 4 weeks long and is shared with two other artists in residence. While in residence, artists are required to host a workshop, lecture, or event virtually or in-person. The PBF accepts applications from artists and writers working in the following disciplines: visual arts, literature, film/video arts, interdisciplinary arts, music, music composition, playwriting, screenwriting, poetry, theatre, and architecture.

Resisting efficiency and resolution, the School of Art seeks immersion into the hum, the grain, the granular—work that cultivates attention through deceleration and degraded signals, work engaging slow, low, and no technology to open immersive states of flow.

2026 Women Photographers International Archive Artist-in-Residence Program

This program offers lens-based women artists the opportunity to step away from daily demands and immerse themselves in an environment built for research, experimentation, and community engagement. The residency, hosted in September 2026 in partnership with El Espacio 23, a prominent contemporary art space founded by collector and philanthropist Jorge M. Pérez, takes place in the heart of Miami’s Allapattah neighborhood. This independently driven residency offers the freedom and space to develop a new or ongoing project, conduct research, and connect with curators, collectors, and fellow artists. Beyond studio work, the program encourages artists to explore Miami’s rich cultural offerings and build lasting relationships with the city’s creative networks.

Penland School of Craft: Resident Artist Program

The Penland Resident Artist Program is designed for professional craft artists who are a pivotal moment in their creative practice or career–the residency is an opportunity for them to pursue objectives that will have a lasting effect on their work and their lives. Penland offers two options for interested candidates, depending on the nature of an applicant’s goals: a 1-year project-based residency or a 3-year career transition residency, each beginning March 15, 2027.
Stove Works Artist Residency
Chattanooga, Tennessee

From February through November of each year, Stove Works’ Artist Residency invites eight Artists to live/work for one to three months at a time. The residency serves as a moment away from the rigamarole of life and an opportunity for Artists to take advantage of the dedicated time, space, resources, and community it has to offer. Six of the studios will be dedicated to practicing visual artists, one will be devoted to non-object-based practices, and one studio for off-site (family or local) residents. Stove Works have no expectations for how Artists use their time during the residency. This open call closes on June 15.
This call has a $20 entry fee between June 1—June 7, and a $30 entry fee between June 8—June 15.
30th Annual NO DEAD ARTISTS International Juried Exhibition

Ferrara Showman Gallery proudly hosts the 30th iteration of its annual call for artists: NO DEAD ARTISTS International Juried Exhibition of Contemporary Art, an exhibition founded by Jonathan Ferrara in 1995 to give a voice to emerging artists. With exhibition participants selected by an ever-changing group of three prestigious arts professionals, the exhibition is installed in the gallery on September 16 and remains on view through October 17, with an opening reception in conjunction with the Arts District New Orleans’ First Saturday Gallery Openings on October 3, 2026 from 5-8 pm.
Call for Entries: 2026 Governor’s Awards for the Arts and Humanities

Georgia Council for the Arts and Georgia Humanities are seeking proposals from Georgia-based artists or artisans to design and produce ten (10) original awards for the annual Governor’s Awards for the Arts & Humanities, which recognizes outstanding individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the cultural life of Georgia. Each award should be a work of art that reflects the creativity and artistic excellence of Georgia’s arts community, and works must be completed and delivered by late September 2026. The selected artist will receive $3,000.
Choice Neighborhoods Resident Artist

The City of Winston-Salem’s Public Art Commission (PAC) is launching the CNI Resident Artist Project, a one-time artist residency funded through the Choice Neighborhoods Initiative (CNI) Public Art Revitalization Program. The CNI Resident Artist will collaborate with the Public Art Commission to work with East Winston-Salem residents to develop an artistic project that is community focused. The selected artist will have an all-inclusive budget of $300,000 with an expected time commitment of 12 months that includes the initial immersion period, a proposal period, and then time to implement the artistic project.
Call for Entries: A Sense of Place National Juried Art Competition at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art

The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art (GHIA), Augusta’s only independent nonprofit visual arts school and gallery, is offering its 44th annual juried fine art competition. Open to participants from throughout the United States, GHIA seeks to recognize the outstanding quality and diversity of work being generated by contemporary American artists. Three cash prizes will be given, including a $750 Best of Show Award and two $500 Juror’s Awards. At the juror’s discretion, additional noncash Merit awards may also be presented. Award recipients will be announced on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the opening reception.

The Wassaic Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, uses art and arts education to foster positive social change. The Wassaic Project nurtures connections between its artists and its neighbors facilitating a mutual broadening of perspectives and respect across economic and cultural boundaries. Partnerships between artists and the community improve the reach and quality of the Wassaic Project’s work and inspire new ways of looking at art and the world. The organization accepts proposals for its 2027 Residency program, which includes the Winter Residency program (Jan – April 2027) and the Summer Residency program (June – September 2027). This call is for individual artists, collaborative teams, groups of two or more individual artists, and artists applying through the Family Residency program.

Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists

The Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists is an annual $10,000 grant awarded to provide critical support to Black trans women whose work has often been under-recognized in the visual art field. In order to further recognize finalists for their artistic achievements, Queer|Art is pleased to announce that the grant will also provide a $1,250 award to four distinguished finalists. Winning artists and finalists will receive additional professional development resources and further guidance to bolster their creative development in the field.
