The 2027 Creative Capital Open Call seeks proposals from individual artists in all 50 states for new artistic works in the Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Film, and Literature.
The Creative Capital Award provides individual artists with unrestricted project grants for the creation of innovative, original, and imaginative new artistic works. The Award provides unrestricted project grants from $15,000 up to $50,000, plus professional development support, industry connections, and community-building opportunities. The new State of the Art Prize aims to recognize and support one artist from every U.S. state and inhabited territory, with an unrestricted artist grant of $10,000. Through the 2027 Open Call for the Creative Capital Award, Creative Capital will also select recipients for the new State of the Art Prize.
Delfina Foundation: Open Call for Artists Based in Latin America and the Caribbean and Related Diasporic Communities in the United States

Delfina Foundation, in partnership with El Espacio 23 / Jorge M. Pérez Collection, is pleased to announce a new open call for Latin American and Caribbean artists based in the region or from related diasporic communities living in the United States. Generously supported by Jorge M. and Darlene Pérez this initiative will create four fully funded residencies over the next two years from countries of Latin America and the Caribbean that have been underrepresented in Delfina Foundation’s programme.*
From this year’s open call, two artists will be selected for twelve-week residencies: one for the autumn 2026 season and one for the winter 2027 season. A second open call will be launched at a later date to appoint two further residencies.
*This open call is directed towards Latin American and Caribbean artists from countries that have been underrepresented in Delfina Foundation’s recent programmes. Artists from Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, and Argentina have benefited from dedicated residencies over the last two years. To ensure this opportunity benefits a wider range of Latin American and Caribbean communities, artists living in those countries are not eligible to apply through this call. There are no exclusions for Latin American and Caribbean artists living in the United States.
Call for Artists: Louisiana Contemporary 2026

Artists residing in Louisiana are invited to submit their work to the 2026 edition of Louisiana Contemporary, presented by The Helis Foundation. Ogden Museum of Southern Art first launched Louisiana Contemporary in 2012, to establish a vehicle that would bring to the fore the work of artists living in Louisiana and highlight the dynamism of art practice throughout the state. Since the inaugural exhibition, Ogden Museum has shown works by over 650 artists, making Louisiana Contemporary an important moment in the national arts calendar to recognize and experience the spectrum and vitality of artistic voices emanating from New Orleans and in art communities across Louisiana.
This statewide, juried exhibition promotes the contemporary art practices in the state of Louisiana, provides an exhibition space for the exposition of living artists’ work and engages a contemporary audience that recognizes the vibrant visual arts culture of Louisiana and the role of New Orleans as a rising, international art center. Call for Artists: The Handweaver’s Guild of America Convergence 2026 Exhibitions in Wearable Art, Functional Art, Yardage and Mixed Media

We invite anyone working with fiber or using traditional fiber art techniques to enter our exhibitions. Small Expressions is an annual juried exhibit featuring contemporary small-scale works; Krewe of Threads: Let the Good Times Roll, a wearable art exhibit that brings the energy of the city to garments, footwear, headwear, and beyond; Lagniappe: The Art of Everyday Beauty, a functional art exhibit for artworks created with fiber techniques such as interlacing, felting, stitching, dying, coiling, knotting, pulling, and spinning; Creative Spirits of the River, a juried exhibition of constructed and/or embellished yardage that showcases the richness of fiber art techniques; and Threaded Revelry: Throw Me Something, an opportunity to play boldly, mix media freely, and join a celebration of fiber as both a serious art form and a joyous expression.
Cash prizes provided by HGA include: $500 First, $250 Second, and $100 Third. Winning works will be published in a future edition of our magazine. Fees range from $0 for students to $25 for non-members.
Artspace: Universal Access Artist in Residence

Initiated in 2018, the Universal Access Artist Residency is for artists who identify as having a disability. This month-long residency provides funding, studio space, and professional support for a national artist to produce a solo exhibition immediately following the residency at Artspace. This opportunity includes 240hour access to studio space, a $2,500 stipend, housing if the artist is coming from outside the Triangle region, opportunities to interact with the public and the artist community, community engagements, and more.
Call for Artists: Proposed Mural at Gallery 537

The Camden Public Art Committee invites individual artists and artist teams to submit proposals for a mural at Gallery 537, located at 537 East DeKalb Street in the Downtown Camden Cultural District. Theme: “More Than a Revolution,” a visual narrative blending the heritage and history of Camden, SC along with the strong artistic and cultural contributions of the community, with a highlight on music, particularly incorporating piano keys.
Proposals should specify your artistic vision for this blending of Camden’s history and cultural landscape, include a preliminary sketch, and also include 3-5 images of previous large-scale public work.
2026-2027 Library of Congress Innovator in Residence

The Library of Congress is seeking our next Innovator in Residence to start in September 2026! We will fund an individual up to $90,000 per year, for a maximum of two years, to create a transformative digital work with Library of Congress collections and to serve as an ambassador for the Library. This is a mostly remote residency experience that can be designed around your schedule. The digital work(s) could tell an engaging story and prompt deeper inquiry, demonstrate a new method of discovering Library items, or present free-to-use items and tools to enable creative remixing and reuse.
C3Lab Public Arts Fellowship Program

The C3-Lab Public Arts Fellowship, located at ACSM Design + Build, is an 18th-month, studio-based fellowship designed to help artists expand their practice into public art. Fellows work as a two-person collaborative duo and receive hands-on training in digital modeling, materials, fabrication, installation, and professional practice. The program also includes mentorship, community engagement, and archiving/documentation of artistic work, culminating in the creation and installation of a permanent site-specific public artwork.
This call has a $25 application fee.
Starworks Ceramics Residency
Star, North Carolina

Deeply rooted in our community, Starworks fosters meaningful connections between visiting artists and local makers, creating opportunities for exchange across education, professional practice, and studio development. Visiting artists are encouraged to meet, learn from, and work alongside potters from the Seagrove area—one of the oldest and largest pottery communities in the United States—gaining insight into a living ceramic tradition while contributing their own perspectives and skills. Resident ceramic artists at Starworks benefit from studio spaces located adjacent to the Starworks Clay Factory—an exceptional resource for artists interested in working with raw, locally sourced materials. This close connection allows artists to test, research, and develop their own slips and glazes using unprocessed regional clays.
Resident artists are selected based on a competitive pool of applicants from across the country and abroad working in sculpture, functional pottery, and design. Residents are provided with time to push personal, professional, technical and conceptual limits. Ceramic artists who are at a crucial stage in their career, requiring an opportunity to experiment, refine and formalize studio practices are encouraged to apply.
Penland School of Craft: Resident Artist Program

The Penland Resident Artist Program is designed for professional craft artists who are a pivotal moment in their creative practice or career–the residency is an opportunity for them to pursue objectives that will have a lasting effect on their work and their lives. Penland offers two options for interested candidates, depending on the nature of an applicant’s goals: a 1-year project-based residency or a 3-year career transition residency, each beginning March 15, 2027. Applications close on June 15, 2026.
Hambidge Center: Multidisciplinary Residency (Fall)

The Hambidge Center hosts the region’s oldest self-directed residency, offering private live-work studios that support uninterrupted creative time. Residents shape their own process without required activities. Small cohorts share chef-prepared vegetarian dinners that foster community and collaboration. Participants span diverse disciplines and come from across the U.S. and abroad. Facilities include the Antinori Pottery Studio and a restored Steinway grand piano.

Florida CraftArt Emerging Artist Program

Florida CraftArt’s Emerging Artist Program is designed to nurture and advance the careers of emerging craft artists. Artists working in clay, fibers, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, and wood, have an exceptional opportunity to grow their careers and showcase their work to the community. Applicants must be a Florida resident at the beginning of their professional art career.
This call has a $20 application fee.
South Arts: Arts in Rural Places

Arts in Rural Places Grants support rural and isolated communities (communities that are geographically isolated or isolated due to socioeconomic factors, outmigration, education gaps, and/or lack of infrastructure) as well as small cities with populations of 50,000 people or less with expedited grants of up to $3,000. To be eligible for funding, applicants must program arts experiences featuring a Southern artist. The project must include at least two in-person or live, virtual public activities with a minimum of two hours of artist engagement in the community.
South Arts: Artist Creative Practice

South Arts offers Artist Creative Practice Grants (formerly Individual Artist Career Opportunity Grants) to ensure that artists from our region can take advantage of a variety of career enhancing opportunities. The Artist Creative Practice Grant supports a variety of professional development opportunities including milestone activities in an artist’s career that will likely lead to substantial career growth. Grants up to $3,000 are available for opportunities taking place between November 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026.
Kerouac Project Residency

The Kerouac Project provides six residencies a year to writers of any stripe or age, living anywhere in the world. They provide emerging writers the opportunity to live and write in the house where Kerouac wrote The Dharma Bums and lived on during On The Road’s publication.
