Art Writing Incubator 2020

By May 20, 2020
Burnaway’s signature annual writing intensive, the Art Writing Incubator (AWrI), returns for its eighth cycle in Summer 2020. In four virtual sessions taking place in June and July, leading critics and culture writers from around the country will give half-hour live-streamed lectures on topics including cultural criticism and long-form feature writing. These lectures will be available for free to the public.

Selected participants who complete the application below will join these writers and critics for an online, hour-long private discussion following each public lecture. Participants will also receive one-on-one tutoring from Burnaway’s editors through video conferencing over the course of the program.

Beginning with an introductory session led by Burnaway’s editors on June 27 and break for the Fourth of July weekend, the program will take place over three Saturdays from July 11 through July 25.

RSVP to the public talks for AWrI here. Respondents will receive a streaming link on the day before each talk is set to take place. Find more information about the guest critic for each session below.
