The PBF provides intimate, focused residencies to artists and writers, including those elevating voices and topics relevant to the LGBTQIA2S+ community. Applications are now being accepted for fall 2026 residencies to work in the private studios and enjoy the garden and former homes of Dr. Peter Bullough.
Emerging artists are encouraged to apply. Each awarded residency period is four weeks long and shared with 2 other artists in residence. Each artist receives a private room and studio. Residents are awarded a $600 stipend. Artists are required to host a workshop, lecture, or event virtually or in-person while in residence. Applicants must be currently residing in the US or US citizens living abroad.
This call has a $20 application fee.
Calls for Artist Entries: Public Exhibitions and Signature Events on the Atlanta Beltline

Artists, cultural producers, artist collectives and organizations are invited to submit proposals that support public exhibitions and one-of-a-kind events on the Atlanta Beltline corridor during the 2026-2027 exhibition season. These activities may include artistic and cultural performances, events, exhibitions and festivals that creatively activate the Beltline corridor and engage the public for the benefit of reflecting or providing insight into a community’s history, values, and cultures. The goals of this category are to uplift projects that foster a sense of place and identity, and create a sense of belonging and pride, ultimately improving the experiences and quality of life of residents and visitors alike. Previous awarded proposals have included musical concerts, public choreography, parades, festivals, exhibitions of art, literary performances and more.
Artlab Editorial Fellowship

Established in 2022, Artlab Editorial, an initiative by Hyundai Artlab, has witnessed firsthand how platforms for critical art writing are essential to a thriving global art ecosystem. As part of our ambition to spark meaningful dialogue, cultivate empathy, and facilitate collaborations, Hyundai Artlab is looking to support two art writers whose texts on contemporary art exercise critical empathy. These writers should navigate the balance between care and critique, the interrogative and intuitive, the perceptive and imaginative, and engage through dialogue to deepen understanding.
This Fellowship is open to art writers from anywhere in the world and at any career stage. The two selected Fellows will each receive $10,000 to produce three pieces of writing every other month for Artlab Editorial in 2026 and will be paired with one of this year’s Fellowship Advisors, Mira Dayal, and Gary Zhexi Zhang, for regular one-on-one guidance and mentorship throughout the program.
Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 Windgate Artist in Residence at the University of Arkansas

The Windgate Artist in Residence at UA Little Rock is a semester-long residency program open to artists, designers, and craftspeople. This residency offers the selected applicant the opportunity to create work and engage with the School of Art and Design community, as well as the greater Little Rock community. The primary goal of the residency program is to provide time to make and develop work, and the space to make it while interacting with our community. This program provides a $30,000 stipend, housing, funding for materials and travel, studio space, and access to UA Little Rock’s extensive studios.
The selected artist will have 24-hour access to a private studio and specialized areas including: a Woodshop equipped with a CNC and laser cutter, Ceramics Studio, Jewelry and Metalsmithing Studio, Smithy and Foundry, Photography Studio, and a Printmaking Studio. Artists will interact with students through weekly open studio hours, studio visits, and in-class activities (artists will not be required to teach courses). The Artist in Residence will give an artist talk at the Windgate Center of Art + Design and the Arkansas Museum of Fine Art. Participating artists give one work of art to be added to the Permanent Collection at UA Little Rock.
Call for Artist Entries: 2026 National Photography Awards, National Council on Aging

The National Council on Aging (NCOA) invites photographers to showcase adults aged 60+ thriving through family, friendship, and community. Celebrate empowered individuals, supportive families, and the vibrant connections that bring joy, purpose, and vitality—demonstrating that aging well means staying active, engaged, and connected. THE NCOA will grant the following awards: $1,000 for the First Place Award, $600 for the Second Place Award, $500 for the Public Vote Award, eight $300 Merit Awards, and ten $150 Honorable Awards.
All selected artworks will appear on the virtual ncoaGallery.org website. In addition, 20 award-winning photographs will be printed on high-quality, large-format canvas for presentation in the onsite exhibition at NCOA 2026 Age+Action Conference in Arlington, Virginia; showcased in multiple art galleries throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area; and proudly included in the permanent collection at NCOA’s headquarters in Crystal City, Virginia.
Call for Proposals: Caribbean Culture Fund Residencies and Fellowships

The Caribbean Culture Fund (CCF) invites cultural institutions and organizations with residential capacity to submit proposals for artist residencies and fellowships. Ten grants of USD 5,000 to support short-term, intra-Caribbean residencies and fellowships will be awarded. The CCF grant must cover all costs, including visa, travel, accommodation, meals, and interpretation for up to a maximum of two artists from any Caribbean country or territory other than the one of the applicant. The residencies should foster creative exchange, collaboration, and innovation across diverse artistic disciplines and cultural contexts.
Through this call, the CCF seeks to create meaningful opportunities for artistic growth, facilitate connections between artists, institutions, and communities, and strengthen the cultural and social ecosystem of the Caribbean region. The residencies and fellowships may be open to practitioners from any artistic discipline. Selected artists must be willing to participate in at least one public activity during the period and at least one virtual event to be hosted by the CCF.
South Arts Southern Prize and State Fellowships

The South Arts State Fellowship (state fellowship) is a state-specific prize awarded to artists whose work reflects the best of the visual arts in the South. A national jury will select one awardee per eligible state, based on artistic excellence that reflects and represents the region’s array of artistic expression. Each of the nine-state fellowship awardees will receive a $5,000 state fellowship and will compete for one of the two Southern Prizes. State fellowship recipients will be required to attend the awards ceremony in late summer 2026.
The $25,000 Southern Prize will be awarded to the artist whose work demonstrates the highest artistic excellence, and a runner-up will be awarded a $10,000 Prize. Both Southern Prize recipients will also receive a two-week residency at The Hambidge Center in Rabun Gap, GA. State fellows for Visual Arts, including the Southern Prize winner and finalist, will have their work featured in a traveling exhibition that will tour throughout the region. All fellows are required to participate.

The DAG Prize for Visual Art

The DAG Prize is awarded annually to an emerging artist whose work contributes meaningfully to the evolution of visual art in the United States. We aim to support work that offers significant innovation—for example, at the level of medium, content, technique, or expressive style. Open to artists who have achieved some early success but who have not yet received major prizes or widespread recognition.
Central Appalachia Living Traditions Experiences Grants

The Mid Atlantic Arts’ Central Appalachia Living Traditions (CALT) Experiences grants fund public-facing projects and events in Appalachian counties of Ohio, Virginia, and West Virginia that bring community members together around traditional arts and cultural knowledge. Funded projects will encourage broad public awareness, understanding, and appreciation of living traditions and/or grow and disseminate artistic skill and cultural knowledge within the community. To be eligible, you must reside/be based in an Appalachian Regional Commission-designated county in Ohio, Virginia, or West Virginia and the majority of projects must take place within ARC-designated counties. Grants range from $1,000 to $10,000.
Call for Artist Entries: Pura Flora Group Exhibition

The Black Mountain Center for the Arts invites artists to submit work for our upcoming exhibition, Pure Flora. This show aims to celebrate the physical beauty of plants, botanicals, and flowers, and to capture the impact they have on our lives. This exhibition will be featured in our gallery from May 1-May 22, before our annual Art in Bloom exhibition as a lead in and celebration of this year’s 20th Anniversary of Art in Bloom.
We seek artists with varied backgrounds, who represent the wealth of talent and diversity in our region. Interested artists may submit original artwork for consideration. We will accept 2D work in all mediums including paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, fiber, and mixed media, as well as 3D work in ceramics, fibers, metal, wood and/or other sculptural materials. Experimental styles will be considered. Original interpretations of the theme are welcomed.

Call for Artist Entries: The Airlie Gardens 2026 Annual Art Exhibit

The Airlie Gardens Foundation is inviting artists and artist teams to apply for its 2026 outdoor art exhibit, unFROGettable. Selected artists will decorate, paint, and adorn one of ten oversized fiberglass frog sculptures, transforming them into unique works of art displayed throughout the gardens. The artist-designed frog sculptures will be installed across the grounds from July through December 2026. Selected artists will receive a $900 honorarium.
ArtSpark Grant Program

ArtSpark is a competitive grant program supporting individual artists in Acadiana by providing technical support, funding and entrepreneurial training to artists in various fields. These awards offer assistance to emerging, mid-career, and established artists for specific, short-term projects with a component of community outreach and a focus on the artists’ and/or communities’ economic development with the support of Lafayette Economic Development Authority.
This program is committed to expanding access to resources and professional opportunities for artists from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences by reducing barriers to participation and creating fair access to support that helps artists strengthen their practice and grow their careers. Awards range between $1,000 and $10,000.
Atlantic Center for the Arts: Residency #197

Atlantic Center for the Arts offers immersive, inter-disciplinary, three-week Mentorship residencies several times a year with the upcoming Residency #197 taking place April 26—May 16, 2026. There are scholarships available, and the residency features the following artists: Charlie Hailey (architect & writer), Carlton Turner (artist, agriculturalist, builder, researcher, and co-founder/co-director of Sipp Culture), and Nestor Torres (Grammy Award-winning musician).

Bailey Contemporary Arts Center Artists in Residence Program

The program offers eight studio spaces to individual visual, performative, and theatrical artists for a nine-month residency from October 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Through this residency, the City of Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department aims to foster an environment that supports artistic growth, experimentation, and professional development. The program is intentionally flexible to encourage individuality, spontaneity, and collaboration. BaCA serves as a welcoming and inclusive space where diverse art forms, creative practices, and modes of inquiry are accepted, nurtured, and celebrated. The AiR Program cultivates a dynamic setting that invites the public to engage with artists, observe the creative process, and experience new work, attracting both local residents and visitors. All applications must be submitted through CaFÉ in order to be considered.
Call for Artist Entries: All the Fixins: Artists from the South

All the Fixins: Artists from the South is a juried exhibition showcasing the phenomenal artistic talent of artists living and working in the South. All the Fixins will take place at the Reeves House Visual Arts Center from May 8 – July 4, 2026. Susan Bridges, the Director/Owner of Whitespace Gallery, will review artist submissions to determine which work will be shown and which artworks will receive awards for first ($500), second ($250), and third place ($100).
