The Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design at Georgia State University, Atlanta, features an internationally-active faculty and a rigorous curriculum that prepares students for professional careers in art and design. The school’s NASAD-accredited graduate programs include an MAT in Art Education and an MFA in Studio Art with concentrations in Ceramics, Drawing and Painting, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography & Expanded Media, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Textiles. These full-time degree programs encourage excellence through experimentation, cross- disciplinary pursuits, and critical analysis of existing ideas about art, pedagogy, and art history.

Locust Projects 2025 WaveMaker Grants

WaveMaker at Locust Projects supports Miami’s visionary artists with incubator grants for innovative projects that are shared with the public in unconventional spaces. Since 2015, WaveMaker has awarded $510,000 in funding to 102 of Miami’s visionary artists. Grantees receive up to $6,000 each in three categories: New Work / Projects, Long-Haul Projects, and Research & Development + Implementation. In the spirit of Locust Projects’ artist-driven mission, WaveMakers experiment and take risks, creating innovative work that is shared with the public in unconventional spaces. Visual artists, curators, arts writers, cultural organizers, collectives, collaborators, and artist-run spaces at all career stages who reside in Miami-Dade County are encouraged to apply. All projects must engage or be shared with the public in unconventional spaces in Miami-Dade County.


The Caribbean Digital Virtual Artist’s Residency 2025

The Caribbean Digital Virtual Artist’s Residency program supports Caribbean artists working in digital media. The residency is offered in conjunction with the annual Caribbean Digital (TCD) conference, an international event hosted annually at locations in the United States and the Caribbean since 2014, and in partnership with Alice Yard, a contemporary art collective based at Granderson Lab in Belmont, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The Mellon Foundation sponsors this program. The Caribbean Digital Virtual Artist’s Residency seeks to support the development of “born-digital” creative work primarily based on digital media and tools rather than analog work digitized for presentation or storage.


McColl Center Winter 2026 Artists-in-Residence

McColl Center hosts three residency terms per year—fall, winter, and summer, for four artists per term. Artists-in-residence receive private housing adjacent to McColl Center, a large-scale private studio in Uptown Charlotte, curatorial guidance, marketing and PR support, and a generous stipend. The Winter Artist-in-Residence program runs from January 6–April 13, 2026. 2025 Summer Artist in Residence at Tiger Strikes Asteroid – Greenville

Tiger Strikes Asteroid – Greenville is excited to invite applications from Southeast-based artists across all visual art disciplines for a 4-week artist residency, followed by a 1-week open-ended presentation to be held this summer at our new gallery space located within The Lofts of Greenville at 201 Smythe St, in Greenville, SC. Designed to foster local artistic exploration and community engagement, the residency offers a unique opportunity for early and mid-career creatives that are looking for a site to activate with a concept or project. They are particularly interested in expanded and non-traditional approaches to practice and process, encouraging experimental projects that may not otherwise be realized. Please be mindful that this residency does not offer housing or accommodations, and may be most ideal for individuals living in proximity to the gallery location.


McColl Center: The John O. Calmore Creative Activism Artist Residency

The John O. Calmore Creative Activism Artist Residency at McColl Center seeks to honor the legacy of John O. Calmore, a pioneering figure who, after excelling at Stanford University and Harvard Law School, dedicated his life to combating racial injustice and poverty through both legal practice and academia. Drawing from his deep understanding of social issues, Calmore crafted a distinctive approach to critical race theory and social justice lawyering, encouraging lawyers to transcend traditional avenues of advocacy and challenge systemic inequalities in innovative ways. In this spirit, the residency calls upon citizen-artists worldwide, aged 21 and above, with a demonstrated commitment to socially and politically engaged artmaking. The McColl Center welcomes diverse artistic themes and disciplines rooted in the principles of risk-taking, creative expression, and critical thinking The culmination of this residency will be an exhibition in Toronto, Canada, serving as a testament to the power of art to inspire social action, problem-solving, and community connection.

St. Elmo’s Art Residency

The St. Elmo Arts Residency within the Department of Art and Art History offers one fellowship each academic year to a recent MFA graduate specializing in painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, or multimedia. The residency includes a $30,000 stipend, accommodations at a charming house and studio situated in a small artist community in the St. Elmo district of South Austin, a two-semester part-time teaching position at the University of Texas at Austin in the Art and Art History Department, access to UT academic and art lab resources, and a solo exhibition at the Visual Arts Center in the Spring of 2026. The residency begins in early August 2025. Only artists graduating from an MFA program between August 2024 and July 1, 2025, are invited to apply. Please refrain from applying if you have not graduated from your program by July 1.


Athens Art Book Fair

The Lamar Dodd School of Art is pleased to announce the third Athens Art Book Fair on Saturday, June 21st at the Athenaeum in downtown Athens, GA. The Art Book Fair is presented as part of AthFest, an annual three-day free festival that celebrates Athens’ vibrant creative culture and features local and regional musicians and visual artists. The Fair will be held from 11am – 4pm on Saturday, June 21st. Please note that exhibitors are expected to be available for set up and take down as well as staffing their table throughout the day.


Atlanta Print Biennial 2025

The Atlanta Print Biennial is an international juried exhibition, open to all artists working in hand-pulled printmaking processes. The exhibit is organized by Atlanta Printmakers Studio and hosted by Kai Lin Art, a contemporary art gallery located in the vibrant Westside District of Midtown Atlanta, GA. Work must incorporate at least one hand-pulled printmaking process. No exclusively digital prints or photographs will be accepted.

Azule Artist Residency Mountain Retreat

As an emerging community-based organization, Azule has developed a residency program for performers, writers, architects, builders, musicians, and artists of all types. Located on 35 rural acres in Western North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Azule’s facility is the result of decades of work by local craftsmen, using predominantly locally harvested or reused materials and constructed with traditional techniques.


Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant

These monthly grants range from $500–$3,000, with the average amount being $1,700. Visual and performing artists whose work has a contemporary, experimental nature and who have a US Tax ID Number can apply.


Nancy Norton Tomasko Scholarship

The Nancy Norton Tomasko Scholarship fund is dedicated to providing financial support for individuals wishing to learn more about the book arts. The Center will award scholarships covering the full tuition and materials for one course per individual. Awardees are selected based on financial need and proof of having satisfied the prerequisites for the desired course. Please fill out and submit the following form at least three weeks before the start date of the workshop to be considered for financial assistance.

They aim to foster meaningful dialogue between multiple spheres of influence, encouraging cultural exchange through engaging and provocative compositions. Some categories of work include: commentary, theory, philosophy, exhibition reviews, visual analysis of art,  short stories, poetry, personal essays, op-eds, thoroughly researched investigative or academic inquiries, personal gripes, outlandish claims, unfounded opinions, tall tales, and ancient soliloquies.
