Brandee Newkirk

Brandee Newkirk is a PhD. Student at Duke University studying Art History and Black Visual Culture. Her research focuses on representations of Black women in expressions of Black trauma and Black joy in the Modern, Postmodern and Contemporary eras. After receiving her bachelor’s degree at the University of Arizona in Art History and Italian Studies she spent several years in the Southwest secondary art market further cultivating an analytical eye for artistic expression.
