In an email to BURNAWAY, Mitchell wrote, “For 36 years, Robin Sandler and Debbie Hudson have maintained a highly respected and diverse gallery roster in Atlanta, and this gives me great comfort. I can focus on my practice, which is what this kind of support is all about. I’m really looking forward to the future.”

Gallery co-owner Robin Sandler said, “What we responded to in Kirstin’s work was how multifaceted it is. What she does is conceptual but also beautifully crafted and executed. We didn’t have anyone on our roster doing things the way she does. We’re thrilled to have her at the gallery.”

Plans for a solo exhibition by Mitchell at Sandler Hudson are forthcoming.
