The Gainesville Fine Arts Association (GFAA) invites submissions for its 4th National Biennial Juried Exhibition – HEAT.  The theme for this exhibition is informed and inspired by Jeff Goodell’s searing new book, The Heat Will Kill You First: Life and Death on a Scorched Planet. GFAA are seeking artworks that relate to the first order threat and prime mover of all other impacts of our climate crisis – HEAT. Participants can use any medium and artists must be 18 or older to submit. Only original works will be considered, no substitutes and no reproductions will be accepted. All artwork must be ready to hang with proper hardware.

This call has a $35 application fee.


32nd Emerald Coast National Juried Art Exhibition | Call for Entries

Emerald Coast National (ECN) is a juried exhibition held annually at Mattie Kelly Art Center Galleries, Northwest Florida State College. What began as a regional show has evolved into far-reaching, exciting programming of a range of media styles by emerging to established artists reflecting what they are doing in the world today. All art styles, materials, mediums, etc. are invited to participate—including sound art, kinetic art, sculpture, photography, video, design, craft, and even performance if you can provide documentation for the application. The first-place winner will receive $1,000.00 and a solo show curated by MKAC Galleries. The second place will receive $500.00, and the third place will receive $250.00.

Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists

The Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists is an annual $10,000 grant awarded to provide critical support to Black trans women whose work has often been under-recognized in the visual art field. Now in its 5th year, the Illuminations Grant was developed and named in partnership with Mariette Pathy Allen, Aaryn Lang, and Serena Jara. Winning artists and finalists will receive additional professional development resources and further guidance to bolster their creative development in the field.


Penland School of Craft 2025 Resident Artist Program

Penland’s Resident Artist Program is designed for professional craft artists who are at a pivotal moment in their creative practice or career. The residency is an opportunity for them to pursue objectives that will have a lasting effect on their work and their lives. Depending on the nature of an applicant’s goals, there are two options: a one-year project-based residency, and a three-year career transition residency.

Art Students League Works in Public Open Call

Applications are open now for Works in Public, the Art Students League’s exclusive public art program in partnership with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. This professional development program offers artists the opportunity to create sculptures for year-long public exhibitions at Riverside Park. Participating artists will gain experience working with the physical materials and processes that are used to create original works of public art, and are awarded a monthly stipend and a scholarship for a full-time class at the League for the duration of the program.


Atlanta Center for Photography 2024-2025 Studio Artist Program

Atlanta Center for Photography is offering two subsidized studios for rent to lens-based artists with leases beginning August 15, 2024. ACP embrace a broad definition of lens-based, including photography, video, mixed media, collage, printmaking, etc. Located on the third floor of the ACP headquarters at 546 Edgewood Ave SE, the studios each have private bathrooms and storage closets, and rent includes heat/AC, WiFi, utilities, 24 hour access, and access to our full kitchen and rooftop terrace. Studio artists will have the opportunity to propose and teach classes, workshops, and seminars and/or lead additional programming; artists will be compensated for these programs accordingly. Studio artists are not required to be educators to apply, but it is encouraged.


Loghaven Artist Residency Call for Applications

Loghaven’s open call for applications will be from June 1 through July 15, 2024. Loghaven invites emerging and established artists working in architecture, dance, interdisciplinary art, music, theater, visual art, and writing to apply. All resident artists receive a living stipend of $850 per week in addition to travel and freight reimbursement. Artists can find inspiration across Loghaven’s 90-acre campus, which includes rehabilitated depression-era log cabins and light-filled studio spaces. In 2021, the campus received the AIA Architecture Award in recognition of its design.


Call for MARTA Ride with Pride Bus Wraps

MARTA Artbound is seeking LGBTQ+ artists to create designs for Pride-themed Bus Wraps during Atlanta’s October Pride Month. Artbound is MARTA’s public art program, dedicated to helping the public enjoy the ride. The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) is the principal public transport operator in the Atlanta metropolitan area. With engaging visual art, dance, theater, and live music, MARTA Artbound hope the stations will feel like destinations in themselves, a place to see or hear something that brightens your day.


Cups of Contemplation Juried Exhibition Call

Cup forms are the most intimate of ceramic art objects offering both a visual and tactile experience. Held carefully in the hands, you feel their weight, their volume, their size, their texture. They are personal forms of art that connect you to the maker. Drinking from a thoughtfully hand-made cup can transform a mundane moment into a meaningful experience of pause, reflection, and contemplation. This exhibition will be shown in tandem with the Southern Miss Ceramics National, 2024. 


Fountainhead 2025 Residency

This residency seeks exceptional visual artists who are at a pivotal point in their career where connections and conversations are the catalyst needed to evolve their art practice. uring each month-long residency, artists are personally introduced to nationally recognized curators, collectors, and gallerists for one-on-one studio visits, offering a one-of-kind opportunity for mentorship, insight, and perspective on their work. They are invited to experiment, investigate, and reflect, while being immersed in the local cultural landscape. Artists-in-residence receive roundtrip airfare, living and working accommodations, an honorarium and a local transportation stipend. They meet local artists and explore Miami’s major museums, collections and galleries. Attorneys, financial professionals and business consultants are available for critical entrepreneurial guidance. Open call applications will be accepted until 300 applications have been received.


Azule Artist Residency Mountain Retreat

As an emerging community-based organization, Azule has developed a residency program for performers, writers, architects, builders, musicians, and artists of all types. Located on 35 rural acres in Western North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Azule’s facility is the result of decades of work by local craftsmen, using predominantly locally harvested or reused materials and constructed with traditional techniques. Artists must be 18 years old or older to apply, with international applicants eligible to participate in the residency.


Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant

These monthly grants range from $500–$3,000, with the average amount being $1,700. Visual and performing artists whose work has a contemporary, experimental nature and who have a US Tax ID Number can apply.


Nancy Norton Tomasko Scholarship

The Nancy Norton Tomasko Scholarship fund is dedicated to providing financial support for individuals wishing to learn more about the book arts. The Center will award scholarships covering the full tuition and materials for one course per individual. Awardees are selected based on financial need and proof of having satisfied the prerequisites for the desired course. Please fill out and submit the following form at least three weeks before the start date of the workshop to be considered for financial assistance.
