BURNAWAY Receives Major Grant From Joan Mitchell Foundation

Sorry, looks like no contributors are set

BURNAWAY is blown away by the news that it has received a $10,000 grant from the Joan Mitchell Foundation. The funds, our first from the prestigious foundation, were given under its Artist Support Through Partners program, which targets organizations that benefit artists at the community level, such as those offering professional development workshops, residencies, and publication support, as well as helping with general operating expenses.

BURNAWAY was selected for our “500 Mile Radius” program, which extends our coverage to the Southeast. So far, we’ve covered exhibitions and events in Birmingham, Chapel Hill/Raleigh-Durham, Lexington, Little Rock, Nashville, New Orleans, and Northern Florida. We look forward to branching out to other cities, and meeting the movers and shakers of the Southeast.

But our work in not done! We still need to raise $3,000 from individuals in order to fulfill our $15,000 Challenge Grant from Possible Futures. Please help us reach our goal!
