Burnaway is excited to announce Burnaway Artist Editions, short runs of art objects created by artists from the South and the Caribbean and intended for a broad scope of discerning collectors. For our first Artist Edition, Atlanta artist Shawn Campbell has created Wrangle, a cowboy poker set complete with a beautifully designed deck of cards, poker chips, cowboy figurines, and more. These sets are available for purchase on our shop and will be available at our Atlanta reader launch party on Thursday, April 10 from 7-9PM at Atlanta Center for Photography.

Why Cowboy Poker?
The American Cowboy is less a historical figure and more a cultural myth—an idealized set of values presented as a blueprint for personal and national identity. The myth of the American Cowboy, much like the American Dream, is built on ideas of hard work, toughness, and honesty. The myth of the American Cowboy continues to exert influence—even as it constantly evolves.

We have two more artist’s editions in the works, so stay tuned!
