Jasmine Respess

Jasmine Respess is a Florida native who writes poetry and non-fiction about the intersections of their Black, Southern, and Caribbean identities. Jasmine currently serves as the Lead Editor of Islandia Journal, a South Floridian (sub)tropical journal of myth, folklore, history, ecology, cryptozoology, and the paranormal. They earned an MFA in Poetry from The New School in New York in 2020. They currently live in Hollywood, Florida with their two dogs and they are an Acquisitions Editor with North Atlantic Books.
