Editorial Intern / Spring 2026

This internship is remote and open to anyone in the American South and the Caribbean, or to those with strong ties to the regions. Applicants must be above the age of 18. Candidates from groups that are historically underrepresented in the arts are highly encouraged to apply – if you think you should, apply!

Burnaway seeks an Editorial Intern for hands-on experience and extensive learning related to our editorial operations. As a growing non-profit arts organization, Burnaway invites interns to collaborate and learn the skills and nuances of the field alongside our staff in a professional digital publishing environment.

Interns will work six hours a week during working hours (9AM-5PM EST Monday-Thursday). Internship duration is January 12 to late May/early June.

Interns will receive $15 per hour paid once monthly. We accept applications from those interning for college credit if noted in your application, and it is the intern’s responsibility to communicate academic requirements to Burnaway staff. Internships for credit are not paid.

Application deadline is Wednesday, November 19, 2025 by 11:59PM EST.
