We’re pleased as punch to announce that the prestigious Joan Mitchell Foundation has awarded BURNAWAY a grant for $8,000!

The foundation’s support has been particularly meaningful for us, since it recognizes the hard work BURNAWAY has done to support and promote artists in and from the South, from providing valuable exhibition coverage and taking readers into artist studios to offering professional development workshops, lectures, and visiting critic residencies.

But the news is bittersweet. The Joan Mitchell Foundation has announced that it will refocus future funding efforts to provide support directly to artists instead of through other organizations. Good news for you, artists!

Join us for the Athens Art Book Fair this June!

This means that support from individuals like you is more important than ever to BURNAWAY. After all, it’s the support of our community that improves the likelihood of our receiving public and private foundation support.

Will you please help us raise $2,000 to reach our year-end goal? We promise to keep delivering the quality content, information, and tools that you rely on to stay informed about art in Atlanta and the South.

Click here to donate or make a pledge.

May the Force be with you!
