In Conversation with Aineki Traverso
Painting from an image archive and the physical selves around onself, Jane Marchant speaks with Atlanta-based artist Aineki Traverso on the idea of the lens and the immediacy that rises from her work.
Jane Marchant is a 2024 National Endowment for the Arts Creative Writing Fellow, recipient of an Elizabeth George Foundation grant, and Lucas Artists Fellow at Montalvo Arts Center. She has received support from the Diamonstein-Spielvogel Foundation, Tin House’s First Book Residency, Headlands Center for the Arts, Ucross Foundation, and Oak Spring Garden Foundation, among others. Her work has appeared in in ZYZZYVA, Guernica, Apogee, Kweli Journal, Catapult, Columbia Journal, Evergreen Review, and elsewhere.
