Kelly Kristin Jones is the winner of this year’s Emerging Artist Award, given by the Forward Arts Foundation. Jones receives $10,000 and a solo exhibition at the Swan Coach House Gallery in 2016. The finalists, whose works will be on view concurrently, are Dustin Chambers, Antonio Darden, Pastiche Lumumba, and Vanessa Williams. They each receive $2,000.

The award is given to an emerging artist who has not had a major show and does not have gallery representation.

Jones’s most recent work addresses the overlooked spaces of urban renewal in Southeastern cities and landscapes. In addition to her photographic practice, Jones curated the group show “Shape of a Pocket” at Sandler Hudson Gallery (where she also works), and is a contributor to BURNAWAY.
