Announcing BURNAWAY’s Arts Writing Competition!

BURNAWAY is hosting an arts writing competition this spring in conjunction with the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center’s exhibition: 
Jon Pack & Gary Hustwit: The Olympic City, Apr 19 – Jun 15, 2013

BURNAWAY invites current student-level and professional writers to submit an exhibition review of The Olympic City. 
Note: This competition is open to writers currently living in the state of Georgia.

The award for student-level winner is $100, which includes publishing the review on BURNAWAY and an invitation to write another article at a future date. Student-level is defined by any currently matriculated, degree-granting student in any Bachelors or Masters program in GA.

The award for professional-level winner is $250, which includes publishing the review on BURNAWAY and an invitation to write another article at a future date. Professional-level can also include currently enrolled students in PhD programs in GA.

Submission checklist:
Reviews should be between 800-1,000 words, submitted as a Word document.
Proof of current GA residency submitted as PDF. 
*Submit all materials to [email protected]/burnaway including “The Olympic City, competition review” in the subject line.

Submissions are due by Monday May 6th, with winners announced on Monday May 20th.
The winning reviews will publish on BURNAWAY on Thursday May 30th.

BURNAWAY’s editorial board will review the submissions and select the winners.
