Real Time & Space

Location: Oakland, CA

Real Time and Space (RTS) is comprised of 15 work-only artist studios and an artist residency program located in a former print shop in Oakland’s Chinatown. RTS aims to provide a productive and participatory workspace for our members and residents by fostering opportunities for dialog, collaboration, and cross-disciplinary interaction. This residency is open to artists, writers, curators, and designers. RTS seeks to facilitate the exchange of ideas within and beyond the Bay Area artistic community. There is a 10$ entrance fee.

Headland Arts Center Artist in Residence

Location: Marin, CA

The Artist in Residence (AIR) program awards fully sponsored residencies to approximately 50 local, national, and international artists each year. Residencies of four to ten weeks include studio space, chef-prepared meals, comfortable housing, and travel and living stipends.  For more information go here.

Metal Museum : Tributaries

Location: Memphis, TN

Tributaries is open to metalsmiths of all ages and at all stages of their careers. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Once you have applied to Tributaries, your application is held for five years. Previous exhibitors in Tributaries will not be accepted. For more information and to fill out an application, go here.

Wassaic Project Winter Residency

Location: Wassaic, NY

The Wassaic Project seeks artists working in a diverse range of media who want to produce, explore, challenge, and expand on their current art making practices, while participating in a grass roots, community-based arts organization. Artists will have access to printmaking, ceramics studios, and woodshop. Financial assistance is available. For more information, please go here.

The Haunted Mill @ Wassaic Project

Location: Wassaic, NY

The Wassaic Project is looking for artists to participate in their 2019 installation, The Haunted Mill. Artists will be given complete creative control to create an installation in one of the rooms or an entire floor in Maxon Mill. For more information,  go here.

Atlanta Photography Group: On The Verge

Location: Atlanta, GA

In an effort to support photographers at the beginning of their careers, the Atlanta Photography Group is launching an exhibition for photographers age 35 and under. There is an entry fee, but APG does have scholarships available. For more information, go here.

Atlanta Photography Group: Airport Show 

Location: Atlanta, GA

Every year, the Atlanta Photography Group curates an exhibition at the world’s busiest airport. The photographs from this show will be part of the Atlanta Celebrates Photography Festival Guide and artists will receive 60% commission from any art sold at the airport. There is a fee for entry but APG does have scholarships available.

Young Affiliates of the Mint: Coined in the South

Location: Charlotte, NC

This artist call is open to all creative mediums which are non-perishable, do not produce excessive noise pollution, and do not result in physical and/or psychological harm to any living beings. Installation, video, and performance artists are encouraged to apply but must provide instructions for installation and space requirements, as well as recordings and/or documentation of past performances when available. There is a 40$ submission fee.  For more information, please go here.

Athica: YELLOW

Artists of all mediums and formats are encouraged to apply to YELLOW, a juried exhibition by Kevin Sipp, the coordinator for the Office of Cultural Affairs and Gallery 72 (Atlanta). The works should explore or reference YELLOW, as a color, construct, as it appears in literature, art or science. Work must have been created in the past two years and not recently shown in the Athens area. There is a 25$ entrance fee. For more information, please go here. 

Hatch Training Intensive 

C4 Atlanta’s Hatch Training Intensive is aimed at artists working on or for community centered projects to help improve sustainability and outcomes for all involved stakeholders. Twelve artists will be selected for this training, which takes place over four weekends with a final presentation in December. The tuition for this program is 360$, with payment plans available for artists who are accepted. For more information, go here.

Innovate Grant

Location: Nationwide

Each quarter, the Innovate Grant gives a visual artist and a photographer a grant of $550. The application is very simple to allow for “artists to spend more time on their work.” The fee is $25. For more information, go here.
