 5th Annual Short Shorts
Location: White Space Gallery, Atlanta
How do you decide something is truly art? You can say anything that encourages a lively discussion is art. Or anything that sells is art. Or it can be your own personal opinion. In the existential age, it is accepted that the individual – not society or religion – is solely responsible for giving meaning to life and living it passionately and “authentically.” These conclusions on truth and authenticity permeate every fiber of our culture, from advertising to intimacy, from politics to sense perception.
Whitespace Gallery calls for short short films (8 min or less) that address truth. Genres accepted include documentary, narrative or experimental. Some topics that might be addressed include constructive ambiguity, objectivity,  predictive histories, perception management, parallel space, brainwashing, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, fact-checking, self-confirming feedback loops, psychedelic consciousness, post-political governments, causality and correlation, managed outcomes, Bayesian belief networks, reframing the narrative, optics, non-linear warfare, shape shifting, hypernormalization, and simplify, revise, over-simplify. The show will be curated by filmmaker, Ruth Dusseault.
