C4 Atlanta and Binders at Ponce City Market are organizing a juried exhibition for existing C4 members. New Spaces will explore the popular arts trend of “placemaking.” This may include new ideas about innovation, community engagement, architecture and more. Work may represent placemaking in Atlanta and beyond. Entries may explore the impact of placemaking on visual artists and how the arts world intersects with other sectors and the community at large. Submitted pieces must meet certain criteria to be selected for showing. All artwork must have been created in the last 12 months. You MUST be a current C4 Atlanta member to participate. The jurors are Susannah Darrow, executive director of BURNAWAY Magazine; Carlton Mackey, director of the Ethics & the Arts Program for the Emory University Center for Ethics; and Julie Delliquanti, executive director of the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center. The show opens on March 6, with a March 1 installation date.
