The Bronx Museum has a call for its Artist in the Marketplace (AIM) residency.

AUGUST 2014

Local Residency
Location: Miami, FL
Successful applicants live and work in Cannonball’s facility for the duration of the residency period. Each resident receives a private 600 square foot live/work studio, free internet access, all utilities, and one on-street parking space.
All residents share the residency floor which includes a full kitchen, laundry facilities, and dining and lounge areas. For these amenities, local residents pay a highly-subsidized monthly rent of $450. Each studio is for single occupancy. No pets allowed.  Please head here to find out more information.

C4 Atlanta
Location: Atlanta, GA
Atlanta wants to showcase the diverse talents of our active members through a series of C4 Pop-Up shows at the Fuse Arts Center. C4 Atlanta announces an Open Call to active members for submissions. Artists will be considered for a show to take place between September 2014 and August 2015. Solo, collaborative, and group shows/experiences will be considered. YOUNGARTS Residency in Visual Art

Miami, FL
The National YoungArts Foundation is currently accepting applications for its Visual Arts Residency in Miami. Artists participating in the program will receive an honorarium of up to $10,000; a stipend to cover travel, projects and other related expenses; 3 to 12 weeks of housing provided by the Related Group with studio workspace on the YoungArts campus; and the opportunity to work with some of the international art community’s most noteworthy master artists, collectors, gallerists, and curators. Artists will create an original work that will be exhibited at the end of their residency or with the work of other resident artists at a future date. See website for more details.

Arts in Emory Village presents: Repurposed Pathways
Location: Atlanta, GA
The Emory Village Alliance is proudly hosting its first annual art festival on the five Thursday evenings in October from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. These events will be a celebration of local artists, food, and music. Repurposed Pathways is highlighting the extraordinary work produced in recent years to revitalize the Emory Village area, and to create a space for community members to move easily and safely. There will be light bites and beverages along with the enjoyment of a pop-up, open-air art gallery. Parking is available in the Emory University/Barnes and Noble parking deck on Oxford Rd., and is free after 7:00 p.m. More information for parking can be found at parking.emory.edeu. Carrack Art Gallery
Location: Durham, NC
Call for queer-identified visual artists who are from or working in the South. The Carrack Art Gallery is hosting a two-week show curated by Kate Swearingen September 15-28, 2014. The show is titled “Southerners: queer identified artists finding home and family in the South.” Interested artists should submit a digital image of the proposed work via email by Friday, August, 29, 2014. Atlanta Printmakers Studio: Call For Entries
Location: Marietta, GA
“Pressing Matters V” Atlanta Printmakers Studio Annual Members Exhibition at 2 Rules Fine Art, Marietta GA.  This exhibit is open to all Atlanta Printmakers Studio members. Each member may exhibit one print (framed and ready to hang) and up to five prints (matted/mounted) for the print bins.  Artists must mail their entry form and $15 entry fee to APS postmarked by September 1, 2014. You may renew your membership or sign up as a member by including the $35 membership fee when you mail your entry form.  A “Best in Show” award of $100 and three honorable mention awards of $50 each will be selected. The “Opposites Attract” Print Exchange is a great way to trade prints and build a personal art collection. This exchange is open to all printmakers everywhere. The theme is “Opposites Attract.  Artists are invited to interpret this concept visually. Think about contrast, contradiction, duality, opposition, or even collaboration between different things. Fellowship Program for Emerging Artists in NYC- Queens Museum
Location: Queens NY
The Queens Museum is  offering a major new opportunity for visual artists: The Queens Museum – Jerome Foundation Fellowship Program for Emerging Artists in New York City. Operating in conjunction with the museum’s new artist services program, the Fellowship Program for Emerging Artists in NYC will annually award three visual artists a grant of $20,000 each; an artist’s project at the museum with an accompanying publication; and professional development advice and a mentorship with the museum’s director of exhibitions. Artist in the Marketplace- Bronx Museum
Location: Bronx, NY
The Artist in the Marketplace (AIM) program, now in its 34th year, provides professional development opportunities to emerging artists residing in the New York metropolitan area. The program consists of a 13-week seminar that addresses practical concerns and cultivates networking opportunities. Every two years, AIM introduces the work of 72 artists to a greater audience via exhibition and catalogue. Every year a panel of five art professionals selects 36 artists for the AIM program.  Please check here for more information.

Hambidge provides a residency program for artists to explore, develop, and express their creative voices. Situated on 600 acres in the mountains of north Georgia, Hambidge is a sanctuary of time and space. Check out their application requirements here!

MacDowell Colony
Location: Peterborough, NH
The MacDowell Colony is a renowned artist residency program in New England. Participants remain in the program for up to eight weeks, with five weeks being most common. The sole criterion for acceptance to the MacDowell Colony is artistic excellence. MacDowell defines excellence in a pluralistic and inclusive way, encouraging applications from artists representing the widest possible range of perspectives and demographics. We welcome artists engaging in the broadest spectrum of artistic practice who are investigating an unlimited array of inquiries and concerns.
