BURNAWAY is excited to announce receipt of an $8,000 grant from Fulton County Arts & Culture for 2018. The funds are for general operating expenses, which includes compensation for our writers and contributors, support for staff salaries, stipends for our visiting critics and Art Writers Mentorship Program, and other costs.
Without this crucial support, we wouldn’t be able to introduce you to so many of the amazing artists in our midst, or provide you with our To Do List and Atlanta Art Guide, connecting you with artists and art-viewing opportunities.
BURNAWAY Board Chair Butler Raines said: “On behalf of the BURNAWAY Board of Directors, I want to express our gratitude to the Fulton County Arts Council and the Board of Commissioners for their continued support and for recognizing the important work BURNAWAY does to support the local art community. Without public funding, many small nonprofits like BURNAWAY would not be able to make their valuable contributions to Atlanta’s cultural scene.”
Interim Director Stephanie Cash said: “Small nonprofits like BURNAWAY are the driving force behind much of Atlanta’s cultural life. Fulton County Arts & Culture feeds the nonprofits that together make a vibrant and enticing city for residents and visitors alike.”
Thanks to FCAC for making BURNAWAY possible!
