Join us on Sunday, March 19 for an opening reception and artist talk with master printmaker Katrina Andry. A New Orleans native, Katrina has been listed by Art in Print as one of the top 50 printmakers in America. We are not surprised. Aesthetically her work is stunning and the detail masterful. Thematically Katrina challenges stereotypes placed upon people of color. She explores the negative effects of stereotyping and how the act establishes an arbitrary set of societal norms/rules that benefit the majority while disenfranchising others.
“Perception of Otherness” is on view at the Hammonds House Museum through May 21, 2017.
