La Fragua Culinary Residency
Location: Belalcazar, Spain
This residency is great for artists who use food and edible materials in their art practice. : Through an international open call the CULTO CULINARIA scholarship will invite one culinary artist for a 1 month residency at La Fragua in August of 2016. With hands on production and research support by the team, the selected artist will have the chance to investigate the region in depth, while unearthing all that is growing and breathing in our radius. The residency includes full travel stipend and a €500 artist fee.

MarinMOCA Artist in Residence
Location: Novato, California
For Bay Area artists only. The MarinMOCA residency aims to provide a talented and committed visual artist with a stipend and free studio space at the Novato Art Center surrounded by 50 other artists as well as MarinMOCA’s galleries and classroom. The artist will have the opportunity to concentrate on making their art while giving the community opportunities to connect and learn from his/her art practice and knowledge. The residency offers $2,800 as a stipend, as well as a gift certificate to a nearby restaurant.

APG to ATL: Airport 2016
The Atlanta Photography Group will begin taking submissions for their 6th annual “Airport” exhibition May 16. Juror Amy Miller, the Executive Director of Atlanta Celebrates Photography, will select two photographs each from 15 photographers to exhibit in the central atrium of the world’s busiest airport: Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The ATL has an average of 260,000 visitors a day making this an opportunity to have your photographs seen by, literally, millions of travelers from all over the world! This two-week residency is perfect for community engaged and activist artists. The call proposes a 15 day residence process, where 8 artists will work together with the people of Cazón, to think and put into action, through art tools, possible ways to inhabit an economic system based on cooperation, recognition of individual and collective needs, the upgrading of the own and collective knowledge, and different ways to share, exchange and add value to the resources we can offer to the community.

NPAF Gettsyburg National Military Park

The National Park Arts Foundation offers artists space across the US to continue their practice in unique settings. This one-month residency is situated in an idyllic Pennsylvania pastoral setting that is starkly evocative of the living history of the bitterest American conflict, but also a potent symbol of reconciliation. The residency includes a $1,000 stipend.

FIRST ANNUAL 3×3: POST-ITS FOR THE PEOPLE

This is an open call to artists for an juried exhibition of TINY printmaking and works on paper at Paper Plane Gallery of Atlanta, GA.
This exhibition of work on standard-size Post-It Notes will reflect the ambitious, eclectic, and unpretentious in printmaking and works on paper today. Highlighting traditional printmaking, drawing/painting, and paper sculpture processes in any combination of screenprinting, letterpress, etching, woodcut, lithography, linocut, drawing, cutting, folding, painting, and more. Digital and photographic elements may be used only as a supporting element.

2016 Underexposed Film Festival yc

Celebrating its 5th season, the Underexposed Film Festival yc (UFFyc) focuses its attention on encouraging, nurturing, and supporting the creativity and vision of independent filmmakers, and providing a forum where their work can be viewed. The UFFyc sets itself apart by actively looking for “the undiscovered talent” waiting to be exposed. We seek diversity in storytelling and provide an opportunity for both emerging and seasoned filmmakers to screen in the same forum while encouraging dialogue between the two. Independent filmmakers across the world are invited to submit professionally presented short films, with a runtime of 45 minutes or less to participate in this juried competition in one of the following categories:Narrative, Animation, Experimental, and Documentary. 1708 Gallery invites national and international artists working in all media and disciplines, including performance, to submit proposals for InLight Richmond 2016, 1708 Gallery’s 9th annual public exhibition of light-based art and performance. ARC: Artist Residency Chattanooga
Location: Chattanooga, TN
The visiting artist residency program provides emerging and established artists time, space and support to experiment and develop a new body of work in a creative supportive environment located in Chattanooga’s burgeoning Southside.
Every four months, an artist is selected to participate in the 1-month program by the board of directors in conjunction with a rotating panel of members from the arts community. Artists are provided room with a local member of the arts community, a shared studio with basic amenities, available studio assistance, and access to basic woodworking tools. At the conclusion of the program, the resident will give a lecture and exhibit their work in the Swine gallery.
ARC is open to permanent residents of the United States living outside the greater Chattanooga area. Artists who are or will be enrolled in a college or university art degree-granting program during the time of the residency are not eligible to apply.
ENTRY FEE: $25
