We are thrilled to welcome Logan Lockner and Tori Tinsley to the BURNAWAY team! As the Assistant Editor, Logan will be responsible for the events listings, To Do List, and weekly newsletter, in addition to writing and various editorial duties. Tori is our new Outreach Coordinator and is tasked with whipping our database into shape and overseeing community outreach initiatives.
They both have histories with BURNAWAY; Tori was a kick-ass intern in 2015, and Logan has penned some smart and lovely reviews for us and was a participant in our Art Writers Mentorship Program. Both will be working for BURNAWAY on a part-time basis.
Logan studied English literature and linguistics at Emory University and University College London, concentrating on the work of Virginia Woolf. He holds a BA in English literature from Emory, where he was a Robert W. Woodruff Scholar. In addition to BURNAWAY, Logan’s writing has also appeared or is forthcoming in Art Papers, WUSSY, Oxford American, Paste, and elsewhere. A native Tennessean, he has lived in Atlanta since 2010.
Tori received her BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Michigan, MAAT in Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and recently completed her MFA in Painting and Drawing at Georgia State University. In the summer of 2014, she was a resident fellow at Hambidge and will be attending the Vermont Studio Center in June 2016. Tori is a WonderRoot Season 07 CSA Artist, a 2015 Idea Capital Grant recipient, and her work was chosen for the upcoming South issue of New American Paintings. Currently, she is planning a solo exhibition at Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery in Atlanta, GA. Tori is represented by 19 Karen Contemporary Artspace in Gold Coast, Australia and Tasini Gallery in New York. More information can be found at www.toritinsley.com.
