Last Thursday Creative Loafing‘s Best of Atlanta special issue hit the streets and revealed this year’s picks for winners in categories ranging from Best Doughnut, to Best Vegetarian Splurge, to Best Local DIY or Die Band. (The “After Dark” section even features a fun photograph of local artist Fahamu Pecou as host of Yo! Karaoke night at Pal’s Lounge.)
The contest’s arts section, titled “Poets, Artists, and Madmen,” held good news for the online magazine you’re reading right now. BURNAWAY was named a winner in two categories, Best Local Arts Blog (Readers Pick) and Best Trend in the Arts (Critics Pick).
This is the second year in a row that our publication has won Best of Atlanta awards. (Click here for 2009.) Please watch our About page for more links to press about BURNAWAY and, of course, look forward to our regular coverage furthering the ongoing dialogue about contemporary art.
Yours truly,
BURNAWAY
