Vote Best of Atlanta!

Written By Jeremy Abernathy on July 28, 2009 in Uncategorized

Yes.

Dear lovelies,

It’s that time again. Your inbox is probably flooded with messages about the Creative Loafing Best of Atlanta poll. And sure enough, everyone’s screaming for you to vote, vote, vote for me!

BurnAway.org is our gift to you. If you don’t vote for us, we won’t hold it against you. Promise. But … if you love Atlanta, and if you love local art, it’s worth your time to vote BurnAway.org as the Best Local Arts Website for 2009. Voting closes at midnight Friday, July 31!

Although we currently publish through a blogging engine, we are more than simply “just a blog.” BurnAway.org is an online journal. We do the fieldwork, we make and meet our own deadlines, and we proofread our work. Above all, we’re a team.

As we make steps toward becoming an official nonprofit organization, your involvement will become increasingly vital. This doesn’t have to come in the form of votes. We need to understand your concerns as a community. And in order to grow into a truly significant Atlanta publication, we welcome your advice—and criticism.

After all, a good critic can take a punch in the face.

xoxo

    You’ve got my eleventeen votes!

  • Jeremy Abernathy

Awesome!! I didn’t realize there were eleventeen of you! Har har.

Other things we could use help on = EXHIBIT A: DESIGN FEEDBACK!

You are the artistic community; you know what you like and don’t like. And even if you don’t have a design background, your opinion *still* matters.

The current logo and color scheme are in no way intended to be permanent. This is a work in progress! If you have suggestions about how it can be improved — or, if even you hate the current design — please send us an email!!

EXHIBIT B: LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

We love hearing your opinions. Even if we don’t answer you back right away, someone is reading your email! Sometimes we receive several a week! If you think it’s a good idea, perhaps we could publish some of these letters? We would ask the author’s permission, of course.
