Photo Tour: Castleberry Hill and Beep Beep

Written By Ben Grad on July 27, 2009 in Photo Tours

Karen Hennessee, from The Strand. All photos by Ben Grad except where noted.

I missed last month’s opening at Marcia Wood Gallery, so the two new shows were a welcome surprise. You’ll find some of my favorites from the Castleberry Hill Fourth Friday Art Stroll below, along with a couple shots from Friday’s sweaty concert at Beep Beep Gallery.

These seashells each contained audio devices playing different looped ambient sounds.

Steven Peterman's Everyone I Ever Met is a literal list of all his meetings, with notes. As visitors filtered through Art House Co-op, he continued to add names he'd forgotten to the gallery walls.

At Art House's second space, Art House Gallery Too, Patrick Byrnes presented Cultural Pilgrimage, an installation of paintings, cutouts, and sculpture.

I forget the name and address of this Peters Street gallery. Please leave a comment if you know the gallery or photographer!

Patrick Williams showed his manga- and graffiti-influenced illustrations at Niche 256 on Walker Street.

Across town, Omelet played at Beep Beep Gallery. You can see pieces from Sam Parker's Neotney behind them.

As always, thanks for reading, and please check out the rest of our weekend Photo Tours, here.

Ben, your photo tours with succinct commentary are filling an important gap in Atlanta art coverage.

    Thanks Jerry.

(I’ve talked about this before with a few other regulars, but I think it’s pretty ironic that so few publications really take time to present visual explorations of the art they review.)

    Great Post… thanks!
